Digital Water Works CEO Dr. Paul F. Boulos to Give Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture at University of Colorado Denver

Boulos, its Chief Executive Officer, has been invited to deliver the Chancellor’s Distinguished Lecture at the University of Colorado Denver in the Fall of 2020. Chancellor Dorothy A. Horrell, Ph.D., stated that “Boulos was chosen for his remarkable contributions to engineering, which is of strategic importance to CU Denver.”

This lecture is among the highest honors given by CU Denver. It is sponsored by the Damrauer Endowed Lectureship Fund, whose intent is to communicate to a broad internal and external audience in ways that distinguished and showcase the university. Lecturers are chosen on the basis of their international renown, their ability to speak and interact with a well-informed public audience, and their reputation as excellent communicators. Boulos will donate the $5,000 honorarium to a needs-based civil engineering scholarship.

The day’s program involves the lecturer spending at least a day on campus, interacting with students, faculty, and senior university leadership. The public lecture is delivered in the late afternoon/early evening, followed by a celebratory dinner.

Dr. Boulos is one of the world’s foremost experts on water resources and navigation engineering and the author of ten authoritative books and more than 200 technical articles on issues critical to the water and wastewater industry. He has received numerous honors including notable technical awards for excellence in scholarship; the U.S. Ellis Island Medal of Honor, one of America’s highest accolades; the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) John I. Parcel-Leif J. Sverdrup Civil Engineering Management Award; the ASCE Simon W. Freese Environmental Engineering Award and Lecture; the Pride of Heritage Award from the Lebanese American Foundation; and the Distinguished Lifetime Achievement and Outstanding Community Service Award from the Rene Moawad Foundation. Dr. Boulos was inducted into the University of Kentucky College of Engineering Hall of Distinction, the highest honor the university bestows on its alumni; the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, one of the most prestigious scientific organizations in Europe; and the National Academy of Engineering, the highest professional distinction accorded to an engineer. He was also awarded Honorary Diplomate (Hon.D.WRE) by the American Academy of Water Resources Engineers as well as Distinguished Diplomate, Navigation Engineering (Dist.D.NE) by the Academy of Coastal, Ocean, Port & Navigation Engineers, the highest honors for both academies. AAEES Announces the Paul F. Boulos Excellence in Computational Hydraulics/Hydrology Award

New Award Recognizes Outstanding Innovation in Environmental Engineering and Technology

Boulos Excellence in Computational Hydraulics/Hydrology Award for innovation in environmental engineering and technology.

This prestigious award will be presented annually to a stellar M.S. or Ph.D. student graduating from a university or college with an accredited environmental engineering or environmental science program who demonstrates excellence in the pursuit of research in or application of computational hydraulics and/or hydrology. It consists of cash honoraria for the student and the major faculty advisor as well as a travel allotment to the student recipient to attend the AAEES Excellence in Environmental Engineering and Science Awards Luncheon. This lecture is presented as part of the Neil and Maurita Stueck Distinguished Lecture Series for Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering at Missouri S&T.
